Director, University Honors Program
Embry-Riddle University, Prescott, AZ
The Director of the University Honors Program would serve full-time with a 12-month contract as the chief academic and administrative officer of the program.
The Director would be responsible for honors student recruitment, specialized honors curriculum development, specialized academic advising and student-focused programming, fund-raising, and management of University Honors Program budget and faculty. Moreover, the Director would also responsible for collaborating with the University’s senior leadership, including the deans of the colleges and the many additional leaders who support the academic mission, to provide visionary leadership for the Program’s development.
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is the nation’s top ranked undergraduate engineering university specializing in aerospace engineering and aeronautical sciences. The city of Prescott is nestled in the Bradshaw Mountains of Central Arizona (at an elevation of about 5400 feet) and boasts a pleasant four-season climate.
The position would include teaching 3-4 courses per year in the Honors seminar series or Honors designated disciplinary courses.
Provide leadership for, evaluation of, and planning for the Prescott campus honors program. Support honor students and faculty to achieve outcomes. Teach honors classes. Lead innovations of program based on assessments, best practices, and evolving pedagogy,
A doctorate or other terminal degree and a record of accomplishment as a university instructor and scholar appropriate for appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor (with tenure) are required Ph.D. or other doctorate level equivalent.
